Lincoln High School opened its doors in the fall of 1995 with an initial enrollment of approximately 140 students. The original location of the school was in the old Fairview South Elementary building located on Telford Road in Idaho Falls. In the fall of 1996, the school was moved to its permanent location on Lincoln Road in the town-site of Lincoln.
Lincoln is an alternative high school designed to meet the needs of students who have struggled to find success in the traditional high school setting. The student population is primarily composed of 9th - 12th grades and enrollment are approximately 180 students.
The school year at Lincoln is divided into 6 Tracks. Each Track is approximately 6 weeks in length. There are 3 classes each block and each class period is about 2 hours and 5 mins long. The allows the students to earn 3 credits every Track and 18 credits in a school year. Students have the opportunity of taking three traditional classes or online classes each track
The Lincoln campus is made up of three buildings. The curriculum is based on the requirements set forth by the Idaho State Board of Education. The primary focus is on academic requirements for graduation.
Lincoln High School is accredited by both the Idaho State Board of Education and the Idaho NWAC/AdvanceED accredited schools organization.
